Kevin Poirier
Director & Principal Consultant
A trusted advisor to his clients, Kevin is often called upon to support time sensitive and business critical projects. His work is focused on the strategic management and technical delivery of carbon pricing, climate change, and sustainability services. Kevin has delivered climate change, sustainability, and air quality services to clients across Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean. He is a Certified Sustainability Professional (CSR-P) and Professional Engineer, licensed in the Province of Ontario. He has served as the lead representative and strategist for carbon pricing standards development for pharmaceutical and mining clients on both the Environment and Climate Change Canada‘s Output Based Pricing System and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks’ Emissions Performance Standards. Kevin has also led successful applications for federal funding for climate change mitigation and adaptation, including $30 million for climate change resilient drinking water infrastructure for a First Nation community.
Mark Scaplen
Director, GHG & Climate Services
Mark is an environmental engineer with over 25 years of experience in environmental management, with a specialty in the atmospheric environment including air quality, greenhouse gas, and climate services. His primary expertise is in regulatory strategy, emissions quantification and reporting, and greenhouse gas quantification and verification. His climate service expertise includes GHG mitigation planning and strategy and climate resilience/risk assessment for infrastructure and systems. His air quality expertise includes source emissions testing, ambient monitoring, air quality dispersion modeling, sound quality (monitoring and modelling), regulatory permitting and compliance, and air quality component studies for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects, including international work in EIAs.
He has completed projects in the energy, oil and gas, forestry, pulp and paper, mining, transportation, manufacturing, and government sectors, including international work on projects based in The US, Europe and the Middle East. He is also skilled at operational and project management, and regulatory strategy.
