Kevin Poirier
Director & Principal Consultant
A trusted advisor to his clients, Kevin is often called upon to support time sensitive and business critical projects. His work is focused on the strategic management and technical delivery of carbon pricing, climate change, and sustainability services. Kevin has delivered climate change, sustainability, and air quality services to clients across Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean. He is a Certified Sustainability Professional (CSR-P) and Professional Engineer, licensed in the Province of Ontario. He has served as the lead representative and strategist for carbon pricing standards development for pharmaceutical and mining clients on both the Environment and Climate Change Canada‘s Output Based Pricing System and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks’ Emissions Performance Standards. Kevin has also led successful applications for federal funding for climate change mitigation and adaptation, including $30 million for climate change resilient drinking water infrastructure for a First Nation community.

Mark Scaplen
Senior Consultant – Atmospheric Services and Climate Change
Mark has over 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting field in various senior technical and management roles. At previous consultancies, Mark has been tasked with growing new service lines, and providing senior leadership to his division, including Vice President at Stantec, and Regional Manager for environmental services where he was responsible for the operation of several Stantec offices across Atlantic Canada. His professional expertise in air quality, climate change, and environmental impact assessment projects have included work in the energy, oil and gas, forestry, pulp and paper, mining, transportation, and manufacturing sectors, including international work on projects based in Europe and the Middle East. His technical specialties include operational management, environmental services project management, and air quality engineering services including greenhouse gas emissions quantification and verification, climate lens assessments, climate change mitigation assessments, source emissions testing, plume dispersion modeling, emissions inventory preparation, permitting, ambient monitoring, and noise assessment. Mark is experienced in detailed, elaborate regional airshed modelling, as well as complex multi-step reaction emissions calculations.
